What's that? 

Vaseline.




Does it help with preventing snowball accumulation? 

Sort of. 




Does it substitute adequately for bringing your mule indoors and bedding him down next to the woodstove?

Hardly.

    Our mules live outdoors 24/7. Ice balls can be a problem, but a spray can of PAM or other cooking oils do also help.
    For riding we will sometimes use Vaseline or Bag Balm!
